If you’re in Leeds and looking for things to do, than how about popping out to the Leeds City Museum.  There’s loads to see and do.  Experience a world of discovery, explore four floors of interactive and exciting galleries.  Come face to face with the Leeds tiger, step into Ancient Worlds to meet Nesyamun, the Leeds mummy, and dig for fossils in the Life on Earth gallery.

Attraction spotlight: Sheffield Ski Village

If you can’t quite make it on a skiing or snowboarding winter break this year, than Sheffield offers you an excellent alternative… how about a visit to Sheffield Ski Village? 

Their slopes cater perfectly for beginners and advanced riders and our lesson programme will soon have you enjoying all that Skiing and Snowboarding has to offer.

Regardless of if you want to learn in preparation for a holiday or are just looking for a new, exciting way to keep fit then the Sheffield Ski Village is the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard.

With one-third of a mile of artificial alpine slopes and the only half-pipe in the UK, the Sheffield ski village is one of Europe’s largest artificial ski facilities. This is also a great place to master a variety of ski lifts including the button and T-bar lifts.

Leeds City Museum is proud to be hosting a major touring exhibition, ‘Pharaoh: King of Egypt’, from The British Museum in 2012.  Featuring over 130 breathtaking objects from the British Museum’s collection, this blockbuster exhibition at Leeds City Museum will explore the different roles of the King of Egypt, as head of state, chief priest and commander of the army.  Marvel at the tomb statue of Ramses I, see unique reliefs and figurines and explore the life and death of the Pharaoh!

The exhibition will touch on themes as diverse as the Pharaoh’s relationship to the gods, festivals, war, and life in the royal court.  Featuring audio visuals, interactives and family trails, this exhibition will be a feast for the senses and a must-see for anyone with an interest in ancient Egypt.

Staged in the amazing Leeds City Museum Arena, this is a major blockbuster show for the whole family and a once in a lifetime opportunity to see all of these fantastic objects in Leeds.

The Fine Art gallery in Rochester, Kent near to London, Essex, Surrey and Sussex.

The Francis Iles Gallery exhibits contemporary art, with a range of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery, with over 100 artists showing their work. It offers a full range of framing and restoration services. It is the largest private art  gallery south of London.

The National Space station in Leicester

Come along for a evening inside and out dedicated to the night sky. Leicester Astronomical Society join us for a evening of star gazing, workshops and free access to the galleries.
Leicester Astronomical Society will be on hand to guide you through how to explore the night sky as well as show you examples of some of the latest kit for amateur Astronomers.
Learn about the night sky and what to look for as we take you on a tour of the night sky in the largest Planetarium in the UK.
On top of this Children can take part in craft session to build their very own constellation viewers, as well as never seen before space artefacts from our vaults.
